“At Digital Island we set a goal in 2012 to move our customer service from great to unbelievable! To enable this, we implemented the Salesforce Service CRM software package, integrated with our existing ERP system. Digital called in Kate Victor, an experienced project manager from Rocket Projects, to oversee the implementation. Kate took up day-to-day management of the relationship with the third-party supplier to ensure they delivered to scope and within the agreed timeframe. This was challenging at times due to the supplier’s workload with other clients and she had to keep pressure on them. She also kept a close eye on communication with the Digital team on upcoming milestones such as testing and training, and she coordinated these key activities. Kate established a formal project structure with regular project meetings, issue and risk management, and reporting. Prioritised issues were resolved in a timely manner. The project was delivered earlier than initially expected and Digital Island are already seeing benefits with dashboards and better performance reporting.
